Encontra-se aberto concurso para a atribuição de 1 Bolsa de Investigação (BI) para Licenciado/a com o objetivo de realizar uma dissertação de mestrado sobre o pintor JÚLIO POMAR, proporcionada ao abrigo de apoio mecenático a título individual. Esta bolsa resulta de uma parceria entre Tereza Martha, o Atelier-Museu Júlio Pomar/EGEAC, e a Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade NOVA de Lisboa através do IHA – Instituto de História de Arte.

Concurso para a atribuição de 1 Bolsa de Investigação (BI) para Licenciado/a com o objetivo de realizar uma dissertação de mestrado sobre o pintor JÚLIO POMAR.

Área Científica: Artes e Humanidades

Área Científica específica: História da Arte Contemporânea

1. Licenciatura em História da Arte ou Literatura, com média final não inferior a 16 valores;

2. Frequência da parte curricular do mestrado em História da Arte ou do mestrado em Museologia.

1. Experiência de investigação documental em História da Arte Contemporânea;

2. Bom nível de inglês falado e escrito.

  1. Investigação monográfica sobre a obra e o percurso de Júlio Pomar na sua dimensão artística e histórica e sociopolítica;
  2. Apresentação dos resultados da investigação em reuniões regulares com as orientadoras;
  3. Redação da dissertação e defesa pública da mesma.

O trabalho será desenvolvido em articulação estreita com o Atelier-Museu Júlio Pomar e nas bibliotecas especializadas, envolvendo também contactos necessários com museus e outras entidades que detêm obras de Júlio Pomar. A orientação dos trabalhos será assegurada por um/a investigador/a do Instituto de História da Arte da NOVA FCSH e a coorientação por um/a investigador/a designado/a pelo Atelier-Museu Júlio Pomar.

A bolsa terá a duração de 12 meses, com início previsto em 1 de outubro de 2023. O contrato de bolsa não poderá ser renovado.

O montante da bolsa corresponde a € 930,98, conforme tabela de valores das bolsas atribuídas diretamente pela FCT, I.P. no País (https://www.fct.pt/financiamento/programas-de-financiamento/bolsas/). A este valor acresce o seguro social voluntário correspondente ao primeiro escalão, caso o/a candidato/a opte pela sua atribuição, bem como o seguro de acidentes pessoais.

A seleção dos candidatos será feita mediante avaliação curricular, na qual serão ponderados:

  1. Curriculum vitae (35%);

  2. Plano de trabalhos (máx. 750 palavras) fundamentado em conhecimento extensivo da bibliografia sobre Júlio Pomar, elaborado no âmbito das temáticas seguidamente apresentadas (35%):

    • Júlio Pomar e a crítica da arte – um levantamento sistemático, começando com Mário Dionísio e chegando à atualidade.

    • Júlio Pomar em Paris: duas décadas de produção, centrando-se o trabalho em compreender os circuitos parisienses, a relação com o editor Joaquim Vital, os ateliers, os amigos, as exposições e as galerias.

    • A produção plástica de Júlio Pomar e a sua relação com os artistas muralistas mexicanos.

    • A relação da obra de Júlio Pomar com a obra de outros artistas.

    • O desenho na obra de Júlio Pomar.

    • Júlio Pomar e a Pop.

  3. Nível de inglês falado e escrito (10%);

  4. Carta de motivação (20%);

A classificação final será expressa na escala de 0-100 valores. Não será admitido(a) a ocupar o lugar a concurso, por falta de mérito absoluto, candidato(a) que não obtenha uma classificação final igual ou superior a 80 pontos.

O concurso encontra-se aberto no período de 3 a 14 de julho de 2023.

As candidaturas devem ser formalizadas, obrigatoriamente, através do envio de carta de candidatura acompanhada dos seguintes documentos: Curriculum Vitae, certificado de habilitações, carta de motivação, declaração sob compromisso de honra de que não excede, com a celebração do contrato de bolsa em causa, um período acumulado de um ano nesta tipologia de bolsa, seguido ou interpolado, e não foi já beneficiário de qualquer outra bolsa de investigação direta ou indiretamente financiada pela FCT.

No caso de graus académicos obtidos em instituições de ensino superior estrangeiras, é necessária a apresentação do reconhecimento dos graus obtidos, de acordo com o DL Nº 66/2018, de 16 de agosto; ou, em falta do reconhecimento no momento de candidatura, declaração sob compromisso de honra de que fará esse reconhecimento antes da contratualização da Bolsa em caso de ser o/a candidato/a selecionado/a. Não obstante, é obrigatória a apresentação do reconhecimento até ao momento de contratualização da bolsa.

Aims and tasks:

  1. a) Monographic research on the work and career of Júlio Pomar in its artistic, historical and sociopolitical dimension;
  2. c) Presentation of research results in regular meetings with the supervisors;
  3. d) Writing the dissertation and its public defense.

This fellowship will have the length of 12 months, non-renewable, scheduled to start in October 2023. Is associated with the “Júlio Pomar Research Grants”.

The scholarship amount is €930,98 per month (according to the table of scholarship values directly attributed by FCT, I.P. in the country) (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores). To this value is added the voluntary social insurance corresponding to the first level, in case the candidate opts for its attribution, as well as the personal accident insurance

The scholarship is intended for a graduate in Art History or Literature (with a final average of no less than 16/20), who is attending the curricular part of the Master’s Degree in Art History or Museology.

Candidates must meet the eligibility conditions provided in the Article 6º of the FCT I.P Regulation for Studentships and Fellowships (2019).

Important notice regarding the Application Admission Requirements mentioned above:

  • In the case of academic degrees awarded by foreign higher education institutions, and in order to guarantee the application of the principle of equal treatment to candidates who hold foreign and national academic degrees, it is mandatory to recognize these degrees and convert the respective final classification to the Portuguese rating scale. The recognition of foreign academic degrees and diplomas as well as the conversion of the final classification to the Portuguese classification scale can be required in any public higher education institution, or in the Directorate-General for Higher Education (DGES).   • The scholarship is always dependent on the presentation of proof of the required academic qualifications.

  •     Certificates of academic degrees held;
  •     Proof of enrolment on a Masters course;
  •     Motivation letter;

A sworn statement that the candidate will not exceed with the conclusion of the scholarship contract in question, an accumulated period of one year in this type of grant, consecutive or interpolated, and has not already been the beneficiary of any other grant directly or indirectly funded by FCT.

The selection of candidates will be made through curricular evaluation, in which will be weighed:

  2. Work plan (max. 750 words) based on an extensive knowledge of the bibliography on Júlio Pomar, elaborated within the scope of the following themes (35%):
  • Júlio Pomar and art criticism – a systematic survey, starting with Mário Dionísio and reaching the present day.
  • Júlio Pomar in Paris: two decades of production, focusing on understanding the Parisian circuits, the relationship with the editor Joaquim Vital, the ateliers, the friends, the exhibitions and the galleries.
  • Júlio Pomar’s plastic production and his relationship with Mexican muralist artists.
  • The relationship of Júlio Pomar’s work to the work of other artists.
  • The drawing in Júlio Pomar’s work.
  • Júlio Pomar and Pop.
  1. Level of spoken and written English (10%);
  2. Motivation letter (20%);

The final classification will be expressed on a scale of 0-100. Candidates who do not obtain a final classification of 80 points or more will not be admitted.
